Demonstration of SmartZell M20 at Chip Days 2022
When Mazak Denmark and KJV held the Chip Removal Days for the industry and vocational schools in Middelfart on 5-7 October 2022, it was of course with QRS on the spot. CSO Olav Sjørslev and our robot programmer Freddy Buur-Mouridsen demonstrated the compact SmartZell M20 with servo drive together withMazak's smallest 5-axis CNC milling machine, the Mazak CV5-500, several times during the 3-day event in Middelfart.
A lot of great pictures were taken at the event, which you can see in the gallery at the top of the page. These include the compact SmartZell M20 in cycle, creating the blank and inserting it into the machine.
Because the robot uses the vice directly as a gripper, a lot of time is saved on gripper changes, and you don't have to invest in an external clamping station - that's smart when the cell has to be compact!
User-friendly robotic automation
Our SmartZell solutions are characterised by ease of use and fast entry of new parts. So you can quickly change over the cell with the user-friendly HMI, making it worthwhile to automate the production of even a few parts. You can see a demonstration of the intuitive HMI here!
Our SmartZell solutions can be equipped with either a fence or a scanner to shield the robot. We had a scanner fitted to the cell we brought to the Chip Removal Days, but both solutions ensure easy access.
While we were at the fair, we also recorded a nice video where the whole cycle can be seen - from the creation of the blank, introduction to the CNC machine, turning of the workpiece to the 2nd run and delivery of the finished workpiece in the template. You can watch the video here!
