We are the proud supplier of Bertha as SGS-Doors has named their robot. Or rather, supplier of the robot cell that Bertha is a part of. Bertha is a 210 kg robot from KUKA that we delivered to SGS-Doors.
As the exciting report from TV MIDTVEST describes, we are dealing with a very industrious robot, as it works around the clock and handles 1 million kitchen doors a year.
In addition to Bertha, the robot cell for kitchen doors consists of an infeed and outfeed conveyor for transporting pallets, a "stack scraper" that separates the top panel from the stack so that the vacuum gripper on the robot can pick it up, a turning and straightening station that flips the panel and, last but not least, a HOMAG machine that processes the sheets.
The robot cell is extremely flexible, handling panels of several sizes - for example, from drawer fronts to wall unit fronts.
