Robot automated machining centre at LPM Productions A/S
We have delivered a robot-controlled CNC machining centre to LPM Production A/S in collaboration with Masentia
LPM Production A/S specializes in component production in a wide range of metals and plastics. The company's competencies include Long turning, automatic turning, 5-axis machining and 3D measurement.
LPM Production A/S has always had a great focus on competence and production development, and is, among other things, because of robot solutions like this one we have just delivered, extremely competitive, also on price in the global market. You can see the robot cell in the video here.
The robot cell is equipped with a 120 Kg. KUKA robot that handles items by an Matsuura MAM72-35V CNC machine. The robot picks up raw items from a Kardex Remstar bookcase and places them in a clamping station that straps the raw item into a vice. The robot then switches grips so that it can pick up the screwdriver, with the workpiece clamped on, and leave the CNC machine.
When the workpiece is finished on one side, the robot flattens the CNC machine, turns the workpiece over and re-loads the machine so that the workpiece can be finished. The finished item is then retrieved and taken to the clamping station, where the screwdriver is loosened so that the robot can pick up the workpiece and place it in an ultrasonic washer. After washing, the workpiece is reassembled, fed into a vacuum dryer, and finally placed on a shelf in the Kardex bookcase.
