Robots to benefit businesses in Djursland

Nørgaard Technology hosted the recently concluded conference Made by Djursland 2022, where talented SMEs in the area can meet, network and inspire each other. The idea stemmed from their own experience with automation, where the company has grown to around 70 employees using robots in production. And with a shortage of skilled labour in the area, robots are a possible solution to unlock the great potential that Djursland has. TV2 Østjylland has made a news item about here.

Many tasks currently performed by humans can be done more efficiently by robots - from bending to loading and unloading parts in a CNC machine, which today can be monotonous and tiring work for employees.

Growth through robotic automation

The feature includes a robotic cell from QRS operating a Mazak Integrex 100 CNC machine. The cell consists of a robot from Kuka, a suitable part engraver and a part table with templates for placing finished parts. It loads and unloads the blanks automatically without the need for lunch breaks or sore joints from always doing the same motion for many hours every day. And it can stand and work at night while employees sleep, making the most of the capacity of expensive CNC machines.

Nørgaard Teknik invested in the specific cell because it was operated by an employee who retired. But since they started automating, they haven't seen a reduction in staff. In fact, they've only hired more staff. In fact, the robot is one of the solutions that has helped Nørgaard Teknik grow, because it has only made the company more competitive, and therefore they have more to do.

When you implement robots in your manufacturing operations, you can typically take on some completely different order sizes that couldn't be handled at a competitive price if the work was done manually. And that's good for business and employees, who are spared trivial work.
